Description :
Model 2SK is a two-stage liquid ring vacuum pump. This vacuum pump compresses gases by rotating a vaned impeller in a cylindrical housing. Liquid (typically water) is introduced into the pump, where centrifugal force forms a cylindrical annulus moving against the interior of the housing. This annular fluid creates a series of seals within the space between the impeller vanes, forming compression chambers. Eccentricity between the rotation axis of the impeller and the housing's geometric axis results in cyclical alteration of the volume enclosed by the vanes and the ribbon. Gas, usually air, is drawn into the pump through an inlet aperture at the end of the housing. The gas is confined in the compression chambers established by the impeller vanes and the annular fluid. The volumetric reduction caused by impeller rotation compresses the gas, which transmits to the discharge aperture at the end of the housing. Compressed gas on discharge of pump contains a certain quantity of working fluid that is typically extracted in the vapor-liquid separator.
